about Food Walk
Food Walk started in 2013 with a simple idea: to create a different way to experience Aarhus – on foot, through its flavours, stories and the places that bring the city to life.
For us, Aarhus is best experienced out in the streets. Moving from place to place, tasting along the way and hearing stories about the city, the people and the places you encounter.
That became the idea behind Food Walk:
EAT · MOVE · LEARN
EAT – taste Aarhus and discover different places along the way.
MOVE – experience the city on foot as you walk from place to place.
LEARN – hear stories about Aarhus, the places you visit and the things you taste.
Local guides – each with their own personality
On a Food Walk, you’ll meet a local guide who knows the city and brings their own personality to the experience. We believe the best experiences come from genuine encounters between people, so our guides don’t have to fit into a particular mould or play a certain role.
We want them to be themselves, be present and enjoy sharing Aarhus with you.
From 10 to 200 guests – while keeping it personal
We have a particular focus on private Food Walks for companies and groups of 10 to 200 guests.
For larger events, we divide guests into smaller groups, each with their own guide. The groups rotate between the different places we have selected for the day’s Food Walk.
This means that 100 or even 200 people can be part of the same event, while the Food Walk itself still takes place in smaller groups – giving everyone the opportunity to hear the guide, ask questions, talk to each other and be part of the experience.
We tailor each Food Walk to the size of your group, the occasion, timing, preferences and budget.
We also organise open Food Walks in Aarhus, where anyone can book a place on a scheduled tour.
EAT · MOVE · LEARN – that’s Food Walk.
